Recently my tranny has been making alot of noise, I did some research on tranny noises when the clutch is released and discovered that my input shaft bearing on my tranny is gone. This is bad news but not to bad as I was gonna swap out the engine and tranny out at the same time anyways. I started looking at wreckers and other places but today I found a cheap Si tranny in the local classifieds for really cheap, I also picked up a replacement drivers side mirror as mine is cracked, rear hatch window, rear drivers side light, and alternator for $220 bucks. Now thats a good deal as the wrecker wanted $350 for DX tranny and $550 for Si tranny by itself. The guy who I bought it from confirmed that it is indeed an Si tranny a couple of times but just to make sure i will do a test to see if it has the right gears in it. The Si and Ex trannies are the same and should bare the markings P20 -B000 and the DX/CX is P20-A000 but from what I could see I did not see this on the tranny. So I did some research and found a neat easy way to figure it out for sure. Here is a link to a tranny test you can do it figure out if your tranny is Si/Ex or DX. Tranny Test
