Doomsday and Starship Troopers 3 Movie Review
Posted On 17 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Movies and Entertainment.
I watched Doomsday and Starship Troopers 3 this weekend and one of them was good but the other one was barely watchable.
Doomsday was worth the money but was very graphic in terms of violence and some scenes were a bit too much, but I guess the director wanted to show you what happens when humanity reaches its limits. Acting was decent and the storyline was believable. It was good movie and worth the Blue-ray rental.
StarShip Troopers 3 on the other hand was not as good. The first 2 movies were OK but this one was totally outrages and the acting was really low quality. One good thing is they brought back the actor that played Rico so the familiar face was nice to see. But beyond that it was a mediocre movie and not worth the rental unless someone else paid for it :D

Cars Running on Water, HHO, Gas For Free, Water 4 Gas
Posted On 15 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Car Related.
I'm starting to hear more and more people, websites and other media sources keep referring to this new hype about running your car on water (H20), but realistically this is not entirely true. You are still required to put gasoline into your gas tank, but you use water to help your car run cleaner and more efficient. Now it's not as simple as adding water into your gas tank, you have to convert water and baking soda thru the process of electrolysis into Browns Gas and then inject this into your engine. This is not a new theory and has been around for years, but lately gas prices are becoming so outrages the idea is becoming more and more popular. There are lots of videos, ebooks and websites about this theory so I will research this more and see if i can implement this system into one of my Honda Civic's.

One of My Crayfish Died Yesterday
Posted On 13 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Crayfish.
I was feeding my aquarium pets late last night and discovered that one of my crayfish in my 29 Gallon tank has died, too bad because he was a really cool crayfish. I was gonna throw him away but decided to feed him to SuperTank in the 45 Gallon so he can use the calcium and meet to his benefit. When I woke up this morning there was only about 20% left of the dead crayfish, SuperTank ate him like there was no tomorrow. So now I am down to 1 crayfish in my 20, 29 and 45 gallon. ... Read More

Interesting Images of Nature

I was camping a few weeks back and finally went over some pictures I took. I thought these would be interesting to show on my blog. Post some comments let me know what you think.
The wrath of nature must of pulled this stump out of the ground and it's now laying on the side of a river.
The sun was going down in the late afternoon and the reflection was amazing, so I snappped a picture with my camera. ... Read More

How To Do a Rear Brake Job on a 1993 Honda Civic Steps 9 to 12
Posted On 11 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Brakes, How To's, Maintenance and Do It Yourself.
Step 9 - To assemble the brakes back together follow steps 1 to 8 backwards until its all together.
Step 1 to 4 and Step 5-8
In the image below you can see the difference between a new brake shoe, a used brake shoe and an entirely used brake shoe that has no more lining left for effective braking.
Step 10 - Top up the brake fluid reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid and start bleeding the brakes. To bleed the brakes get your friend to pump the brakes 3-4 times and then hold the brake pedal firmly. Once your friend is holding the brake pedal, connect a clear tube or a brake bleeding kit to the bleeding nipple at the back of the wheel cylinder and then use a 8mm box end combination wrench to loosen the nipple. You should see brake fluid flow out with some air bubble along the way. Once the brake pedal reaches the floor tighten the nipple up so no fluid is able to leak out. Repeat the pedal pumping and bleeding till no more air bubble show up in the clear tube, but check on your reservoir every 3-4 sessions of bleeding. Do this about 4-6 ... Read More
Always Be On The Lookup For Fish Babies
Posted On 10 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Filtration and Setup, Platy.
I cleaned my 45 Gallon XP3 filter yesterday and after taking out the media baskets I found 2 platy baby fish. I scooped them out with a net and put them into my breeder container, it floats in the 45 gallon so I can observe them there. I guess one of my platy fish had babies and these guys got sucked up and have been living inside the filter for days or maybe even weeks.
I cleaned the filter really quickly and then changed the charcoal and the polishing floss. The filter should be good till about end of August to mid September before it needs another cleaning. ... Read More
How To Do a Rear Brake Job on a 1993 Honda Civic Steps 5 to 8
Posted On 10 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Brakes, How To's, Maintenance and Do It Yourself.
Step 5 - Using pliers release the bottom spring carefully so it doesn't fly away.
Step 6 - While removing the brake assembly away from the hub, use some pliers to pull off the e-brake cable.
Step 7 - Once the brake assembly is out check the wheel cylinder for any brake fluid leaks on both sides of the boots. If it's leaking you will have to get it fixed or replaced with a new one.
Step 8 - There is a retaining clip on one side of the brake shoes, you will have to remove this before disassembling the brake parts. Clean all brake parts with a rag and assemble with new brake shoes. Then clean the self adjuster and re-grease it with an anti-seize grease.

How To Do a Rear Brake Job on a 1993 Honda Civic Steps 1 to 4
Posted On 09 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Brakes, How To's, Maintenance and Do It Yourself.
Before doing a rear brake job order the shoes and drums and get your tools all organized. If your drums are within limits can get them turned at a machine shop and reuse them but for my brake job it cost me $10 more to just buy new ones so I went with that route as new parts are always better.
This article will show you how to do a rear brake job on a 1993 Honda Civic hatchback although this is the same on all rear drum 1992-1995 Honda Civic's.
Before starting the brake job, secure the front wheels with some wheels stops so the car doesn't roll. Then raise the vehicle, support it by jack stands and make sure to release the e-brake
Step 1 - Screw in 12mm bolts into the brake drum slowly and evenly, to make sure it comes out straight.
Step 2 - Spray the brake assembly with brake cleaner until all the brake dust has dripped down to the ground. You might have to repeat the process to make sure all the brake components are clean. The cleaner the brake assembly the easier it is to do the job.
Step 3 - Use needle nose pliers to push ... Read More
My Dad's Planted Fish Tanks
Posted On 07 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: Aquariums.
I visited my dad yesterday after work and while at his place I took some pictures of his planted fish tanks. He has been into the aquarium hobby for over 2 years now and had fish in the past so I would say is a veteran in this department. He knows a lot about CO2 water injection for his plants and is always looking for a better way to filter his water. It's great to see my dad take care of his aquariums as we occasionally trade fish and plants. He currently has my Dwarf frogs and they seem to be doing really well. His plants look really healthy and add a more natural look to his aquariums. Great job dad keep it up.

How To Check if Your 93 Honda Civic Needs an Oil Pump?
Posted On 07 Aug 2008 By Bart Piotrowski. Under: D Series Engine, Maintenance and Do It Yourself, Oil and Lubrication.
If you've spent too much of your hard earn dollars on your engine then you know there is no room for error. I suggest you check your oil pump anytime you take apart the bottom end of your engine or any kind of major performance addon's. Having low oil pressure is a bad road to go down and will lead to engine failure. If you want to find out how to check if your oil pump is within operating specs, then click Here for the link to a great post on ClubEG6 forums. ... Read More
