how come there’s no substrate? will it affect the turtles?
I’m glad your pleco does the air run thing too! Scares the life out of me when mine does his! Especially when I’m doing a water change!! :S
Thanks for checking out my blog, I keep the substrate out to keep the tank cleaner and so the turtles don’t choke on it or gets stuck in their stomach’s. Any food left overs or turtle poop falls to the bottom where it gets moved around by the filter and falls apart where the Pleco and the other algae eaters take whats left and the 2 XP4 filters do the rest. Yes there full size should be around 8-12 inches across the shell.

I was wondering you dont have AIR pump in the fish tank?
That just pushes the upside air into the water?
Also, Is turtle in your tank is illegal in America? Not sure, its not legal in India I guess.
Anyways, the turtles are awesome…
I too have angel fish and Rainbow Sharks. They are just awesome.

I haven’t had air in the tank for years now. I guess the turtles splash enough water to add air to the water but yeah all my fish are living well. And yes these turtles are legal in Canada. they sell them at pet stores all the time.
