I finally finished painting my Cryx Slayer Warjack tonight. From start to finish it took about 10 hours or so. This might seem like a lot of time to spend on a piece of plastic but hey its rewarding, fun and relaxing.
As you can see below once I glued him together he was just a regular grey color, then I primed him with a black spray on primer and then finally painted on the colors. This is also my first attempt at adding rocks at the bottom of the base so its a decent job I think.
I’ll try to make a quick video of of him when I get a chance.
Today I finally got a chance to render my unboxing video of the WARMACHINE Cryx Battlegroup and posted it on YouTube, check it out below.
And tomorrow I’ll be posting a review of the miniatures so come back for some more good stuff.
Last week I went to the games store and was all ready to purchase the Cygnar battlegroup but when I got there my mind was confused as I also liked the Cryx Battlegroup. I pondered it for a bit but finally decided to go with the Cryx as the Cygnar remind me of the Space Marines and after thinking about it I wanted something totally different to spice up the game play.
The painting of these figurines should be very interesting as they have lots of detail and some are quiet small. I already made an unboxing video just have to put it up on Youtube so that should be very soon. So stay tuned for more WARMACHINE coming soon!
Below is also the front and back of my Cryx Battlegroup box in case you wanted to check it out.
Looks like Honda is once again on the move to creating a better Civic. Too bad its only for the European market as I love Hatch back Hondas’

I posted an article about papercraft a few months back and found it an interesting idea for a hobby. I haven’t had much time to dig into it deeper with all the hobbies I got going at the same time but my brother did send me a link recently to a great website with Medieval papercraft housing.
The website is called Dave’s Games and has lots of cool looking papercraft models, some are free and some you need to pay for but are usually just a few bucks. Check out Dave’s Games website by clicking Here.
I was pondering how they would stack up on a Warhammer 40K or a Warmachine game board.. Hmm… I’ll have to look into this down the road.
Is WARMACHINE Competition for Warhammer 40K? YES… No… You be the judge. Before we get into that, first we need to figure out what is WARMACHINE and how did this question come about.
So this past Saturday my brother Paul called me up to ask me if I wanted to go to a games store that sells Warhammer 40K as he needed to get some primer for his models and to see whats new in the Warhammer 40k world of models. We did a Google search and found a store in Mission, BC which was closer to his house so I decided to pick him up and ride out there to check it out.
The store is called Warcraft Games and man its a cool place to shop. The website is http://www.warcraftgames.ca. Its a very large size store and has lots of Warhammer 40K models in stock including paints and brushes.
But getting back to the discovery of WARMACHINE. We were browsing the merchandise making our way to the back of the store when we noticed some cool looking figurines on the shelf. Well the truth be told my brother was already there as I made my way over to check out what looked to me like some REALLY COOL LOOKING STUFF. After browsing this Steam punk army looking game which looked similar to Warhammer 40K it really intrigued both of us.
I looked through a bunch of these great looking figurines and then decided to look through the magazines and eventually purchase a magazine. During the purchase I was introduced to a Matt the clerk behind the counter who was really courteous and friendly and he asked me where I was from and how long have I been playing WARMACHINE. I told him I was a total noob but he was really nice about it and walked us to the back where all the WARMACHINE game pieces were and gave us a run down how it differs from Warhammer 40K and how great it is to play.
After about 10 minutes of talking to MATT both me and my brother were really intrigued about this new game. Now even though I only bought the WARMACHINE magazine and my brother, his primer for his Blood Angels we were both really excited about this new game.
From what I know so far, WARMACHINE is a strategy game played with little plastic figurines just like Warhammer 40K but with a starter set costing only about $60 bucks instead of about $150 or so for Warhammer 40K. It also seems that you don’t need as many units to play the game so painting the starter set won’t take you as long. The 4 main forces that I know of so far are the Cygnar, Cryx, Khador and the Protectorate of Menoth. So far I like the Cygnar the best as it reminds me of the Ultramarines in Warhammer 40K.
For now this is all that I know about this new game, but stay tuned as I might pickup a Battlegroup in the coming weeks and see whats its all about.
