I was checking into any more info about this years Driven to Perform show at BC Place Stadium and stumbled upon some bad news. The DTP show is suspended this year due to the global economic situation and the auto industry taking such a big hit. I was really eager to go and see this year's event and this news is really disappointing to hear but more importantly lots of businesses that were suppose to be at this years show will definetly be affected by this news. Hopefully next year the situation will get better and the Driven to Perform event will be back at BC Place Stadium to inspire and wow future car enthusiasts. There are 2 car shows coming up this year that I am excited to go to again. The first one is the Vancouver International Auto Show which is on March 31 to April 5 and the 2nd one is the DriventoPerform event on May 30th. Once again I will take lots of pictures and post them on the site. As you may have noticed my posts have been very scarce this month as the winter weather slowed things down on my RC D16 Turbo Build and I'm also trying to save money for the machining of the block but after the holidays my budget is really tight. In the last few months the world financial sector has been very shaky which has made me think about tightening my spending habbits but at the same time I believe anything can be achieved if you put your mind into it. I still want to have a Turbo D16 Honda Civic this summer but will see how things turn out so stay tuned to the site for more updates. ... Read More

Well I'm sorry to say that this years' Import Invasion Drag Races and Events were cancelled today at 12:45pm, do to very rainy conditions at the race track. This was really disappointing to me because I was really keen on going and seeing some great racing. I had my camera all ready to go when I heard the news, I was a bit cheesed but what can you do, we can't control the weather. I really hope that they move some schedules around and that they reschedule Import Invasion sometime in July or August so I can get a chance to see some Civic's racing specially on boost. ... Read More

The weather seems like it will cooperate on Saturday, so stay tuned to the site for images and possibly some video of the racing down at Mission Raceway. As it looks right now it’s forecasted to be cloudy most of the day on Saturday so hopefully there is a full turn out of all the drag racers and car show fanatics. It's that time of the year again at Mission Raceway Park when the Imports battle it out for the top spot. This Saturday from 12 Noon to 11pm, Honda's, Acura's, Toyota's, Mazda's, Nissan's and other makes battle it out for who's the fastest on the drag strip.  I drove down to BC place stadium today for the Driven to Perform Tour 2008 and it was definitely worth it. There were lots of great looking cars with loud stereo systems, crazy paint jobs, body kits and exotic makes. Although there were a lot of cars there I only saw two EG 92-95 Civics’ and a few 96-00. I was hoping to see some EG hatch backs but there was none there so I was a bit disappointed. I got my picture taken with a Newjuc girl and beside a new Ferrari F430, after all I have to show my face sometimes. The RC Drifting competition was really neat to see as most of the cars had multi color neon and LED lighting. There was one really well done out Civic that had a mural of spider man on the hood and lambo doors. Even a pink Honda CRX made an appearance at the show with a full body kit and white wheels. The dance competition was interesting to see as the dancers tore through the dance floor and moved to the music of well choreographed dance routines.       ... Read More

The 2008 Driven to Perform Car Show is coming up this weekend and I'm really excited to go check it out. It's going to have a RC car drift competition, dance competition, custom tunned and show off cars and trucks and more. The show is held at BC Place Stadium on May 31, 08 at 1pm to 11pm and the admission price is $20 for adults. I will take some pictures and post them on the weekend soon as I get a chance. I went to the BC Classic & Custom car show on the weekend and it was pretty fun. Although there was only 1 Honda there with a Turbo D16 it was still worth it to go and check out the classic muscle cars. Gotta love the skull headlights Black Chevy Malibu A bar stool racer and a cooler racer I dunno what this was but it just looked great Old Chevy Belair with a nice flat paint job Jet engine drag car 1989 Honda Civic with a Turbo D16 engine Custom classic and a wicked looking old car with a black and candy apple paint job. ... Read More
