Today a good friend of mine introduced me to a new hobby called papercraft and it really sparked my interest. What is papercraft you ask?
Papercraft is the art of making or crafting models from paper or cardstock from your own imagination, special papercraft books or downloading the plans and instructions from the internet.
Yamaha Motor Company has made a website specially dedicated to papercraft where you can download complete plans and instructions on how to create your very own model motorcycles, accessories and more. One motorcycle model that I am interested in building is the Yamaha YZF-R1 and the garage accessories. You can find it by clicking Here.
There are lots of other papercraft things that you can make like animals, cars, boats, houses, and more. Just search the internet and you’ll find them. I did a search on google for my friend Tracey for “Camero Papercraft” and I found this cool site Paperinside.com which has an awesome version of the famous Bumblebee Camero from Transformers the movie. So by just taking the time to search the internet you should be able to find almost anything you like and start building your papercraft empire.
After downloading the plans and instructions from the internet you’ll need to print your papercraft model on a color printer, cut it out and then start assembling it.
Below are some basic tools that you will need when building your papercraft models.
- Rotary Cutter
- Cutting mat
- Cardstock paper
Important Notice: Always keep sharp objects like knives, rotary cutters and scissors out of reach of small children.
