WarHammer 40K and WarMachine Display Case Done

I finally picked up my mirror glass today from a local glass supply store and installed it into my IKEA display case. In case your wondering about the the size of the back piece of glass, its 62″ by 15.25″ by 5mm thick. The cost was only $52 bucks with tax so that’s pretty decent for a custom cut piece of mirror.

Now with the mirror in the background I will be able to see the front as well as the back of all my miniatures. Making them visible for display will give me more incentive to paint a lot more and whenever company comes over they get to see my miniatures.

My New WarHammer 40K Display Case is Almost Done

This year for Xmas I bought myself the IKEA Detolf glass door display case. I started setting it up and noticed one thing; how do I arrange my miniatures so I can see them from all angles? Well the truth is its not so easy as I will never see the back of them if the shelf is against the wall. Well sure enough a great idea popped into my head to put a mirror on the back side so I can see the back side reflection of my miniatures.

This was a great idea but to go one step further I am going to actually replace the piece of glass on the back side with a sheet of mirror glass which will make my miniatures even more clear and better to see. Below is a picture of my display case with a mirror on the back side of the glass. Come back soon as I should have it done in the next few days and will post some updated pictures.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine Video Game

Well its official the highly anticipated Warhammer 40K Space Marine Video Game finally out today and available on PS3, XBOX 360 and PC. Looks like a lot of fun with lots of chainsword, gun shooting action, be aware that this game looks to be quiet violent so be cautious around young kids.

Is WARMACHINE Competition for Warhammer 40K?

Is WARMACHINE Competition for Warhammer 40K? YES… No… You be the judge. Before we get into that, first we need to figure out what is WARMACHINE and how did this question come about.

So this past Saturday my brother Paul called me up to ask me if I wanted to go to a games store that sells Warhammer 40K as he needed to get some primer for his models and to see whats new in the Warhammer 40k world of models. We did a Google search and found a store in Mission, BC which was closer to his house so I decided to pick him up and ride out there to check it out.

The store is called Warcraft Games and man its a cool place to shop. The website is http://www.warcraftgames.ca. Its a very large size store and has lots of Warhammer 40K models in stock including paints and brushes.

But getting back to the discovery of WARMACHINE. We were browsing the merchandise making our way to the back of the store when we noticed some cool looking figurines on the shelf. Well the truth be told my brother was already there as I made my way over to check out what looked to me like some REALLY COOL LOOKING STUFF. After browsing this Steam punk army looking game which looked similar to Warhammer 40K it really intrigued both of us.

I looked through a bunch of these great looking figurines and then decided to look through the magazines and eventually purchase a magazine. During the purchase I was introduced to a Matt the clerk behind the counter who was really courteous and friendly and he asked me where I was from and how long have I been playing WARMACHINE. I told him I was a total noob but he was really nice about it and walked us to the back where all the WARMACHINE game pieces were and gave us a run down how it differs from Warhammer 40K and how great it is to play.

After about 10 minutes of talking to MATT both me and my brother were really intrigued about this new game. Now even though I only bought the WARMACHINE magazine and my brother, his primer for his Blood Angels we were both really excited about this new game.

From what I know so far, WARMACHINE is a strategy game played with little plastic figurines just like Warhammer 40K but with a starter set costing only about $60 bucks instead of about $150 or so for Warhammer 40K. It also seems that you don’t need as many units to play the game so painting the starter set won’t take you as long. The 4 main forces that I know of so far are the Cygnar, Cryx, Khador and the Protectorate of Menoth. So far I like the Cygnar the best as it reminds me of the Ultramarines in Warhammer 40K.

For now this is all that I know about this new game, but stay tuned as I might pickup a Battlegroup in the coming weeks and see whats its all about.

Warhammer Display Case

I’ve been looking for a Warhammer 40k display case for a while now, to protect my Space Wolves from getting all dusty.

I was looking online and found a great one at IKEA, it’s an all glass case with 3 shelves plus a place to mount a light at the top to accentuate the detail my painting. Picture and link below.

Space Wolves Pack Unboxing Video

I did another unboxing video today and this one is about my Space Wolves Pack. I bought this set months ago and only primed the spruce sheets so to show you what comes in the box I did a video today.

In the box you get enough pieces to build 10 full Space Wolves plus tones of other pieces to customize other Space Wolves with some really neat pieces. You get 4 spruce sheets in the box and they look just like the ones in the pictures below, so you get two of the ones on the left and two of the ones on the right.

Warhammer Paint Particles are Smiling at Me

So what does it mean when Warhammer paint is smiling at you??? Good question. I believe its trying to send me a message “Good job and keep it going, your having fun!”

Check out the interesting shape that formed from a bunch of metallic particles in my brush cleaning water, from my Warhammer metallic paints.

I outlined the left copy to show you the funny smile I saw in my brush cleaning water for metallic paints. If you look close it’s almost like its winking at me with its left eye. ;)

I want to finish this up this weekend and move on to my 10  SkyClaw Assault Pack.
